There are some big players within the home improvement industry which makes it easy for you to use them as a benchmark. You may be thinking you don't want to be like the multi nationals and perhaps rightly so but there is so much we can learn from them. If I was your business coach I would be recommending we leverage the hard work they have already DONE to our advantage.
Once again the 'big boys' have done the hard work for us here so we must leverage this to our advantage. Not only can we leverage the other routes to market that they don't care so much about (preferring to pay high end numbers for platforms such as google ads and landing pages) which means we can jump in somewhere in between and be there or thereabouts when the client is choosing which companies to request a quote from. We must be in that realm and we do this by utilising all routes to market including the ones they ignore.
In Module 3 of our Off The Tools Programme we go deep into Lead Generation to ensure we are well placed on google and always in consideration near or above these guys when the client is choosing.
You may not like or agree with this but we should embrace the sales culture involved within this industry WITHOUT the hard sell. using our local expertise and attention to detail to ensure the client knows the difference between a local company who care and a multi national with all their sub contractors who do not.

This is where we really come into our own, We do NOT want to be seen as the big players here (let them have it) but we don't want to position ourselves as a one man band either. We come in around middle ground and using our lead generation strategies above, our relaxed sales practice and our local knowledge we win the jobs at a higher price than normal (but not as high as the big players) we leverage our smaller overheads and industry and local knowledge.
